Bhatia had rubbished rumours the Hoops are targeting Beckham, saying: "There's absolutely no truth in it.
David Beckham is a great player and I hope in the next few years we'll be signing players of such stature, but not now."
However, Fernandes then tweeted: "I think having someone like David in the club would be great. Was always in my thoughts. Let's see."
